Frequently asked questions.
General
99% of our current openings are full-time positions (30+ hours per week). If you don't put an interest in full-time positions in your profile, the likelihood of being contacted in the near future is pretty low, but it’s possible.
The average project length currently is 9 months. Shortest project periods are starting at 3 months.
Invoices are created automatically at the end of each month in the system. All you have to do is log your hours working on a project and submit your banking details. You can get the payment via regular bank transfer or connect your WISE account.
As a member of the Teamway society, you will set your own hourly rate and are paid according to that rate. We can assist you in identifying a competitive rate suitably to your location and experience, but in the end you decide which rate you want to take. Teamway doesn’t take anything from your rate, but the customer pays 15% on top of your rate, which are the Teamway earnings. Both, the customers and the talent can see this transparently in our platform.
Application process
There are 4 steps in the application process to become a builder. Firstly, your application and CV will be reviewed. Next, you will schedule a short cultural and informational interview with a member of our Society. If you pass that, you will become an accepted member of the Teamway Society. As such, you will have access to the platform and can refer talents, but you cannot indicate interest or be presented to a customer unless you complete the tech screening. At this stage, you will be assigned a test project. Once you have finished and submitted it, you will undergo a technical interview, during which you will present the test project to a senior member of the Society. If you ace that, you will become a Builder, who has access to all our openings and can be presented to our customers.
You need to have at least 3 years of relevant work experience + official education in your field of expertise. Or at least 5 years of work experience in your field of expertise if you don’t have official education. It's important that you have not only worked as a solo freelancer, but also have worked in teams and with companies.
You will have a 15-minute call with one of our screeners. They will introduce you to Teamway and you can ask any questions you have around Teamway in this call. You should be an absolute team player, have strong work ethics as well as excellent English proficiency and communication skills to pass this screening step. Keep in mind that your remote work setup is an important factor as well since most of our projects are remote-first.
The technical interview takes 30 minutes and you will meet with a senior member of our Society to discuss your test project. They will assess your technical skills in that call, so you can prepare yourself for the interview by thinking about what you would have done differently if you had had more time and by explaining your thoughts behind the code in general.
